Issue

Minor, bug-fix version of WordPress core, 7.1.1 was released today to fix 17 bugs in core, 21 fixes for the Block Editor, and 12 security fixes.

The security fixes were applied as minor patches to older WordPress core versions (i.e. WordPress 7.0 got patched version 7.0.5 which all sites currently on 7.0.4 should automatically update to).

So, we are still holding off on WordPress 7.1.1 updating until at least September 28th. If all looks good, we’ll start updating sites then.

If you manage your own updates…

Core should automatically update to a secure minor version of the major version you’re currently on. 7.0.4 -> 7.0.5, 6.9.7 -> 6.9.8, etc. Our team will also be tracking all sites for the security updates to ensure they happen automatically.

Wait to update to core 7.1.1 until we give the 👍 on September 28th or after.

And we’ll begin 7.1.1. updates on sites on September 28th or after depending on the bug reports we see.
